Highway 410 Brampton Accident Today Brampton, Ont. — A serious crash early today on Highway 410 in Brampton resulted in multiple injuries and significant traffic disruptions, authorities and local media report.
Ontario Provincial Police say the northbound lanes of Highway 410 were shut down in the early morning hours following a multi-vehicle collision near Clark Boulevard. At least five people were taken to hospital, including one individual with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries.
According to officials, the incident began as a two-vehicle crash before involving a third vehicle that struck a person standing outside following the initial collision. One driver reportedly fled the scene on foot, and OPP are still seeking information on their whereabouts.
Emergency responders worked for several hours to clear wreckage and investigate the crash, leading to the closure of northbound lanes from Steeles Avenue East to Queen Street East. Traffic in the area was heavily affected before the highway reopened later in the morning.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision and are asking motorists with dashcam footage or information to contact the OPP.
